The Society of the Sisters of Social Service is a society of apostolic life, papal law, which was founded on the inspiration of one of the first social encyclicals Rerum Novarum of Pope Leo XIII. Our Society was founded to give glory to God and to cooperate in Christ’s redemptive work by witnessing to God’s love and participating in the social mission of the Church. In our activities, we focus on the various needs of society, arising from social, religious, economic, cultural, civic and environmental conditions in which we live. We are primarily focused on work and help for families, women and children. Our Society, which is called to an active apostolate, also emphasizes the necessity of a life of prayer.

The medal, the emblem of the SSS shows the Dove, signifying the Holy Spirit. “Our task is not just to spread devotion to the Holy Spirit, to recite prayers to the Holy Spirit, to celebrate the feasts of the Holy Spirit in a festive manner.  Our task is to develop a profound relationship with the Spirit by his grace.  We mean not simply a cult to the Holy Spirit; we desire in our spiritual and graced life to enter in a very unique and deep relationship with the Holy Spirit.
