The first celebration in this series took place in the Cuban District on March 12, 2023, when the Cuban Sisters gathered in the Basilica of El Cobre, the place where the Society took roots in Cuba. The Mass was celebrated by Msgr. Dionisio Guillermo Garcia Ibañez, Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba, who greeted the community on this solemn occasion, appreciating their presence in the country.
The celebration was attended by the community’s associates and friends from this region. The general moderator and her assistant could also join the celebration.
The jubilee celebration was preceded by three retreat days which helped the Sisters of the Cuban District prepare spiritually for this important event.
On the eve of the celebration the youth group of El Cobre joined the Sisters as they wanted to to know more about this charism, the history of the Society and the ministries of the sisters from around the world.
