Visitation in Our Romanian District

The task of the General Council is to regularly visit the districts. We spent the past two weeks
in Romania. Our sisters held their district assembly in Cluj/ Kolozsvár on the last days of
August. The closing mass took place in the ancient little church (built in the 13 th century) of
Vlaha/ Magyarfenes near Cluj and it was followed by the blessing of the community’s new
project nearby, the House of Silence, a place dedicated for spiritual programs serving both the
sisters and others who seek a place for spiritual renewal.
Rich visits followed: we saw our Sr. Maria Sescu in Moldavia, we spent time with our sisters
in Miercurea Ciuc/ Csíkszereda, and in Cluj/ Kolozsvár, and we met representatives of the
local Churches.
